Chinese New Year Chill down meal

it is the Chinese New Year. We have an over zealous meal here and there followed by high tasty tit bits of all kinds. Your taste buds are over worked.

it is time to take a break

I start by putting sun tan , garlic and pandan in 2 cup of water and bring to boil. this will become the stock inside the rice cooker.

once cooked pour the content into 2 cups into rice cooker and fire up the cooker.

peel off the prawn head and rinse the debris out off the prawn head to make stock.
stock is made of prawn head, garlic onion and spring onion, pandan.

chop song long beans and jagong
boil then in salt and garlic and maybe some oil
I add a sieve above so the boil action could steam as well
I steam prawns with spring oil, oil and salt

beef is marinated with onion garlic spring onion salt
sizzle pot with oil and onions followed by the stock then beef.
cook the beef quickly and remove it from the pot. the residue broth becomes stock for soup

cook the broth first with Chinese mushroom then add radish, spring onions and parsely. let it cook slowly and add more prawn stock. add more water and soy sauce later to get the right texture.

chop some cabbage and brocolli , boil them for a while
sizzle another pot add stock and suntan and onions

thrown in the boiled cabbage and cooked beef
stir fry them

clap you hands and the long beans the jagong comes together. it is rather tasteless, sprinkle some salt and chopped raw capsicum

Tip toe, clap your heels and lump the cabbage beef. Top it with raw chopped capsicum

snap your fingers,  assemble the brocollii prawns and capsicum

scoop out your soup

gulp everything down with the rice to redeem your salvation !

the taste is light and not jarry. It keeps you at bay before you visit another crazy dinner frenzy with people you seldom hang out it.

so there, a gastronomic chill out from the periles of Chinese New Year feed feast.

Stay calm and stay away from crowds and American news.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone !
